About the Program

Understanding Israel: Politics, Society, Economy, and Security is a unique program developed specifically to engage senior foreign diplomats  (Ambassadors, Deputy Heads of Mission, Consuls and Attachés) and representatives of major international organizations serving in Israel.

This tailor-made, certificate-granting program provides extensive factual information and expert analysis concerning Israel’s political and constitutional system, its economy, society and culture, as well as the country’s main security and diplomatic challenges.

The program for Diplomats– which will enter its fifth year of operation in 2015, has proven exceptionally popular provides a truly unique experience where foreign diplomats get to interact with some of Israel’s most renowned public figures in a relaxed environment conducive to objective learning.

The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Israel, H.E. Henri Etoundi Essomba, Ambassador of Cameroon, has endorsed the program as well as Ambassador Yitzhak Eldan, Former Chief of State Protocol at the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

Field Trip

One of the highlight of the program is a field trip to the Upper Galilee area and Northern Israel that enables the participants to see first-hand the borders at the heart of the regional conflict, as well as other issues explored over the course of the program – such as energy and water issues, co-existence and economic development in Israel’s northern periphery.
